I have an 8-year-old son. At night when we are here alone he always asks me if the doors and windows are all locked. I reassure him, “yes baby, we are all locked up. Then I sleep with one eye open and bionic hearing.
How can I protect him wherever he goes? Answer is I can’t.
I pray for his safety everyday. And now I pray for the souls and the parents of the children in Connecticut.
Yesterday Heaven was blessed with 20 little angels.
Wake up America, it is not about gun control! It is about recognizing mental illness , personality disorders, and psychosis in those around you. It is about stepping up and taking a stand. Take the responsibility of notifying someone of authority and follow through..make sure some type of action is taken. Do not turn a blind eye because you will be just as guilty in the end if something happens and you too will have the blood on your hands. A heavy burden, yes if it is a loved one, but a heavier burden if the end results in such devastation. There is something called “doing what is right, even if it hurts”! Again..key word RESONSIBILITY!
President Obama, your tears were touching but useless unless you change some policy and make reporting a useful tool and allow the agencies that oversee mental illness the resources that they need. This is your country and it is going to hell in a hand basket unless you step up!
