This is my 8 year old son’s favorite song..should I be alarmed or just LMHO as he sings every word out of tune and rocks it out! And yes, when he blurts out “Hey Sexy Lady”..we have had ‘the talk’..and he get’s it. You are expected to treat any young lady as you would treat your mother.

I Miss You!

  He had the brute stength of “Kratos/Cratus” yet the kindness of heart of “Philophrosyne”..I miss you dearly my faithful friend. I knocked on Heaven’s door this morning to say Hello and I love you.

My Friend Melanie

Melanie just sent me a picture. She is done with Chemo and Radiation. Her hair is growing back in. In the past she had beautiful long blonde hair. Now she has the most stunning head of the shortest brunette hair I have ever seen.

This I think may well be her badge of courage.

To those of you who look to “Cosmo” and the like for the latest fashion trends and what’s “hot”..I pity you!

If you are shallow enough to solely perceive a woman’s beauty by the accepted “standard”..flat stomach, full locks of hair, skinny as a rail, perfect curves in only the right places then I am here to TELL you that is your loss. If you honestly buy into the whole “looks” thing then you are missing the best part. Sure, let’s be honest, looks are one of the basic principles of attraction but if you have the guts to look past some of that then you may very well likely find the “diamond” you have been searching for.

If you choose to only see the surface then you deserve all that is artificial in this world and nothing more.

And that my friend is simply and utterly pathetic!!

 

 

 

 

 

Monday

What a weekend! Sunday was a true “ED” day at work. People who really needed help.

I am so tired..I think maybe today I will take it easy and continue to be thankful for the people God has brought into my life.

Suggestion..you my friend, my fellow blogger, may want to do the same.

Breaking News “Women in Combat”

OMFG! Did you doubt that a muzzle would work this time?

Women have been fighting for our country long before now. And my Government just now decides to put  an “offiicial” stamp of approval on it?

Shame on you, no I want to say “to hell with you” for not recognizing the sacrifices of a soldier until now!!

There are women in arms across the Globe. They are our American Soldiers and you damn well need to recognise!

Specialist Devin Snyder I thank you for your sacrifice, along with the untold number of women who stood beside you!!

 

 

 

Day # 11, and then some

DO NOT pass this one over..it is how we build our house!

Day # 11

I didn’t sleep well last night. Not sure why. I checked my email about 4 am or so and to my delight I had a message from my friend who is hundreds of miles away. First thought..Thank you God he is alive and breathing! And then I read the text.

My friend so vividly described the place that he is at..

“The worst possible conditions for human existence…now lower it by 2 notches..and that’s how this city is. I’m shocked, stunned, and freaked out that people aren’t dropping dead from plague, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis, and all other infestation-related diseases”…

The rest of this email describes a virtual “living Hell”. He emphasises that we take for granted the very basics of human existence such as clean water and clean air!

(As I write this I am cussing at my computer for having a friggin’ mind of its own)

Holy Shit, I have such a luxury as yelling at my computer while others in a far off land do not have access to a breath of fresh air.

Yes, I have a tendency of “making mountains out of mole hills”, but I have the choice of “making a chocolate cake out of lemons”!

My friend, you caused me to stop and think twice about the things that I take for granted each and every single day..

I bet you did not even realize by sending a simple email that you at the very least made a “spoiled, white girl think twice about what she should be thankful for”!

Congrats..with a few simple words you managed to make a difference!

Regarding my reply to your email, “I have nothing”… in response to your words..it just took me a little while to take in what you had said.

Day # 10 3/4..

I admit it, I am tired. I am ready to lay my head down and just rest. But you know before I do I have one last thought..

Never force yourself to have a space in anyone’s life because if they really know your worth, they’ll  surely create one for you.

It is time to stand down. Life it what we make it and I think I made my point.

Now it is time to enjoy the simpler things:

A wonderful lunch with a good friend ( thank you  “R”, you made the day!).

Texting back and forth with one of my best girlfriends.

Enjoying a quick walk down the street.

A blazing fire in the fireplace.

Hoping that my friend who is hundreds of miles away is OK.

Wondering where this long and winding road will take me….

And most of all having a good laugh:

Well it’s done. My position on Roe v Wade is out there. Do I regret this decision..not in the least.

If you are inclined to see me as some uncaring, selfless, Godless human being than so be it. The truth is human beings have been shot and killed in broad daylight for their position on abortion. I ask you this..if you feel so strongly about the issue then for heaven’s sake logically explain to me why we continue to have starving and homeless children in our society?

You do not have a leg to stand on! No, you cannot save the world as a dear friend has told me, but if  every proponent of the right to life stood up and put their “money where their mouth is” truth is there would be very few starving and lonely children in our world.” Following an acceptable and idealistic approach to such a highly charged issue should by no means release you from the responsibility of owning up to what you believe in.

If you are so well-intentioned then show me the end result! I see your picket signs, I hear your pious rhetoric..I challenge you to prove to me that you have actually contributed to a positive change in society other than to spill empty words and threats!

Give it up! I honestly believe in God and that there is sanctity in the value of a human life. If you are so inclined to speak for the ones who cannot speak for themselves then you must be willing to stand up and take positive action to end the unspeakable suffering of those you claim to protect!

The reality is there is no good answer to “how do we solve the issue of human suffering?” There is no good answer, at least none that has proven effective as of yet.

I challenge you..if you take a stand then follow through; by action and not just simple easy to use words. DO NOT take the easy way out, if you choose to assault others with your words then you are no less a coward than the person who stands by and says nothing as you witness the atrocities of starvation, homelessness, child pornography, human trafficking and the list goes on. It is my firm belief that these atrocious crimes are born out of the sheer ability of ease..because no one takes action..WORDS ARE CHEAP..ACTION MAKES CHANGE!  and my friend you can take that to the bank!

And in case you were wondering, I am the very proud mother of an 8 year old son..I am always at the ready to walk through a blazing inferno in Hell itself to protect my child!
