It is time to stand down. Life it what we make it and I think I made my point.
Now it is time to enjoy the simpler things:
A wonderful lunch with a good friend ( thank you “R”, you made the day!).
Texting back and forth with one of my best girlfriends.
Enjoying a quick walk down the street.
A blazing fire in the fireplace.
Hoping that my friend who is hundreds of miles away is OK.
Wondering where this long and winding road will take me….
And most of all having a good laugh:
Well it’s done. My position on Roe v Wade is out there. Do I regret this decision..not in the least.
If you are inclined to see me as some uncaring, selfless, Godless human being than so be it. The truth is human beings have been shot and killed in broad daylight for their position on abortion. I ask you this..if you feel so strongly about the issue then for heaven’s sake logically explain to me why we continue to have starving and homeless children in our society?
You do not have a leg to stand on! No, you cannot save the world as a dear friend has told me, but if every proponent of the right to life stood up and put their “money where their mouth is” truth is there would be very few starving and lonely children in our world.” Following an acceptable and idealistic approach to such a highly charged issue should by no means release you from the responsibility of owning up to what you believe in.
If you are so well-intentioned then show me the end result! I see your picket signs, I hear your pious rhetoric..I challenge you to prove to me that you have actually contributed to a positive change in society other than to spill empty words and threats!
Give it up! I honestly believe in God and that there is sanctity in the value of a human life. If you are so inclined to speak for the ones who cannot speak for themselves then you must be willing to stand up and take positive action to end the unspeakable suffering of those you claim to protect!
The reality is there is no good answer to “how do we solve the issue of human suffering?” There is no good answer, at least none that has proven effective as of yet.
I challenge you..if you take a stand then follow through; by action and not just simple easy to use words. DO NOT take the easy way out, if you choose to assault others with your words then you are no less a coward than the person who stands by and says nothing as you witness the atrocities of starvation, homelessness, child pornography, human trafficking and the list goes on. It is my firm belief that these atrocious crimes are born out of the sheer ability of ease..because no one takes action..WORDS ARE CHEAP..ACTION MAKES CHANGE! and my friend you can take that to the bank!
And in case you were wondering, I am the very proud mother of an 8 year old son..I am always at the ready to walk through a blazing inferno in Hell itself to protect my child!
Ok, this is the mother load. I had a post on my FB page tonight from the mother of my son’s best friend about the Supreme Court decision of Roe V Wade and its 40th Anniversay. “Dear Lord grant me the patience to choose my words carefully and wisely.” This is one topic that I refuse to ignore when prompted for a comment. You posted a stance on my page. You are certainly entitled to your opinion; however it is MY page and do not expect me to pass over your post without exercising my right to free speech!! Again, (while taking deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth) I begin to reply to such blind, uneducated, total and utter ignorance!
I have lit up a storm on FB that I intend to finish.
I live in the real world, not the idealistic one that so many proponents of pro-life see and not live. I have taken care of the ones who are left to fend for themselves..IT IS A REALITY! Wake up, there are young female adults faced with the consequences of poor choices every day of their lives. Poor choices, uneducated choices, stupid choices..it runs the gammet. But like it or not IT IS REALITY! And what happens to the innocent lives born out of those poor choices? I challenge you to see the statistics for yourself. These young lives are left on the edge of humanity. They are forgotten. Left to fend for themselves..love, food, shelter etc.
So where does that leave an unborn life? I continue to struggle with that. What I do know is that I have seen too many young people born into an environment in which they are literally just a product of conception. They are treated as if they do not matter, as if they do not count..Like it or not this is the REAL WORLD!!! WELCOME TO REALITY!
Like it or not in today’s society we tend to treat life as nothing more than a circumstance in which we must endure until the day we die. This is the saddest thing about the current state of humanity.
I will unequivocally tell you that I am a proponent of pro-choice.
DO NOT dare tell me I endorse murder or anything of the like. On the contrary I endorse the gift of life. I firmly believe in living up to your God-given potential but I vehemently disagree in bringing a life into this world that is destined for pain..and yes it happens, every second of everyday. This is a sadistic choice that is an “all about me” decision.
You tell me, if God is omnipotent and knows all, why would he allow abortion to be an option? And do not dare tell me it is the work of the Devil..Do you believe that we have an Almighty God that is not in control?!
Do not challenge me by saying that it is not about the willingness to take these unwanted souls into your custody, do not skirt the issue by saying that you are giving a voice to someone who has none..how dare you presume such!
Again check your math..how many orphans are there in this world? How many children go hungry every day in this world, let alone in our own county?
If you feel so inclined to advocate for the unspoken then you had better damn well be willing to open your home and your wallet to save such heartache..if this were really the case and the pro-life advocates were seriously committed to ending the strife of these unwanted children then there would be no organizations begging for your dollars to feed a child or donate the money to surgically repair a cleft pallet!
If the right to life is what you endorse then I respectfully suggest you get off your high horse and take it to the finish line! Words are just that, put your heart, soul, and life savings into one of these children..I dare you! And I do not mean to suggest that you conveniently give $20 a month to some organization that sends you a quarterly picture of a child in need!
